Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of

Thomas Bodall, DOB: 02/17/1985, of 22 East Church Road, Jamesburg New

Jersey, on 5 counts of Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Minor,

and 2 counts of Distributing Obscene Material to a Minor. Bodall was

arrested on Thursday, September 4, 2008 by members of the Bergen

County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit.

The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by

members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit,

under the direction of Chief Joseph Macellaro.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation in which the following

occurred: Mr. Bodall engaged in conversations via the Internet,

specifically chat and instant messaging, with what he believed to be a

14-year-old girl. During the course of those conversations Bodall

initiated sexually explicit dialog. On several occasions, Bodall

transmitted pictures of his exposed penis to the presumed child. A

search warrant was executed at his home and he was arrested without

incident.

Prosecutor Molinelli urges anyone whose child spoke with online with

screen name “capemayfantasy” to contact the Bergen County Prosecutor’s

Office Computer Crimes Unit. Prosecutor Molinelli states that the

defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable

doubt. Prosecutor Molinelli would like to thank Middlesex County

Prosecutor’s Office for their assistance in this investigation and the

Bogota Police Department for their participation on the Computer

Crimes Task Force. Additionally, Prosecutor Molinelli would like to

thank the following agencies that provided manpower in the form of a

Computer Crimes Task Force member and who worked on this

investigation:
