Washington has never seen anything like Speaker Pelosi's ever-shifting tales of what she'd been told. Even Nixon didn't have this much trouble explaining what he knew and when he knew it.......if Pelosi knew waterboarding -- which she now sanctimoniously describes as illegal "torture" -- was on the CIA's list of Gitmo practices, why didn't she raise a ruckus at the time? ...... she says, she focused on "chang[ing] the leadership in Congress and the White House. That was my job." But now she seems to want anyone in the Bush admin who even uttered the word locked up. CIA Director Panetta said: "It is not our policy or practice to mislead Congress......CIA officers briefed truthfully on 'the enhanced techniques that had been employed.' "

Let's not forget how Pelosi got herself into this mess. Liberals were hot to "get Bush" ...... salivating to nail 'im with lawsuits. Then people started asking: What did Congress know? Weren't intelligence commitees briefed? Et voila. Pelosi was ranking member of the House Intel Committe at that time. 

On Sept. 4, 2002, less than a year after 9/11, the CIA briefed Rep. Porter Goss, then House Intel Committee chair, and Mrs. Pelosi, then the committee’s ranking Democrat, on EITs including water boarding. The first members of Congress to be informed.

George J. Tenet was appointed CIA director Aug 1997 (served during 9/11 to 2004).

Tenet was appointed by Pres Clinton and approved by Congress.

Pelosi is now saying that George Tenet lied to her, or ordered his congressional briefers, to lie to Nancy.

I see a huge fight coming withing the Democrat Party. Dems know the average years of service for Congress is a lot longer that the average for a president. He is however pushing them to get behind policies guaranteed to cause a lot of Democrat losses in 2010 and 2012.
