No Sympathy Here Sony

I will safely assume Sony has their flying monkeys out on the Net on some sort of public relations campaign.  I will assume these flying monkeys saw all the big bad things I have here on hackers and wanted their 15 seconds of fame of their case here.

Not gonna happen.  I'm on GeoHot's side.

Sony spreads their story skewed for public support against a 'mean ole hacker'.  That isn't what happened.  No one broke into their corporate sites.  Someone took apart property they bought. Sorry Sony, I don't agree that you can tell people what to do with property they buy.

How many of us have bought a car and suped up the engines?  Would you like GM or Ford showing up in your garage and suing you for it?

How many techies leave your computers as is once you buy them?  Or do you modify, partition or rebuild it?
Would you like Compaq or Hewlitt Packard suing you for that?  I don't even know what my CPUs were originally!

GeoHot did not break into Sony or Playstation and steal data.  He digitally took apart a PlayStation he bought.  I don't even think he did anything wrong posting what he did.  I can take you to millions of sites that show people how to rebuild cars, computers, or scriptings for any process needed.

And now Sony and Playstation want sympathy for bullying from Anonymous?  I am cheering for Anonymous!  I don't condemn modifying scripts.  I condemn breaking into servers and stealing data and damaging sites.

So Sony, no bully pulpit here.  Move On!

A word from Anon:
