Obama, Where's the Birth Certificate?

Propaganda is a campaign that is used to influence perceptions of groups.  Propaganda can be successful when created around selective facts and then target the emotions of that group.

The 'birther movement' had many stories of Obama's birth certificate.  The reason for this was there were many groups targetted in reaching for support.  There was the birth certificate is forged story, the dual citizenship story, the Stanley Ann wasn't old enough to convey citizenship, Obama was born in Kenya and traveled on his father's passport, Obama lost his citizenship in Indonesia and more.

Those stories were formulated to the group that was needed for support.  This is why the propaganda worked so well.  There were elements of truth enough to gain support for what each group believed while being kept simple with enough legal spin to empower the groups with knowledge.

Most of the stories were built on law. Not just a law; but, law that would be decades old, overturned, international, involve research on court history, state, and/or federal.  Average people don't know law.  Never mind needing to know how to correctly research a topic.  All the people that wanted to know the truth for themselves tried to 'research it'.  They were praised and empowered for their work.  This strengthen their beliefs further.

This campaign had another element.  The 'anti birthers'.  They were in place to create drama.  Some of these anti birthers were on both teams, the ones creating the propaganda campaigns as well as on the anti birther teams.  The anti birthers were in place to criticise and bully.  The more drama made, the more attention was given.  Their job was to shut down any questions and to create the stereotype label to fuel hate.

Now, with the release of the long form birth certificate, a new  information campaign is being made with intent to discourage 'birtherism' as a type of behavior while keeping the stereotyping that was made for any with questions related to this birther movement.

Again, this movement was created in 2008.  It was personalized for each group.  The birther label was a stereotype that now encompases all the groups that includes average joes through sovereign citizens.  All were given their own stories to believe.  Trying to quash everyone's questions with a birth certificate in hopes it will all go away while bullying them all with labels like racist, anti american, and armed citizen revolt when they all came from different thoughts will fuel the anger further.
